A toymaker will use six different paint colours—fuchsia,
goldenrod, heliotrope, indigo, jonquil, and khaki—to paint
three different model toys—an aeroplane, a race car, and a truck.
Each colour will be used once, and each toy will be painted with
exactly two colours. The following conditions apply:
Heliotrope and jonquil will not be used on the same model.
Either fuchsia or goldenrod, but not both, will be used on
the race car.
Indigo can be used only with either goldenrod or jonquil.
Goldenrod will not be used on the truck unless khaki is also
used on the truck.
Question 3
3. If goldenrod and khaki are used together on one model,
which of the following must be true?
(A) Goldenrod must be used on the truck.
(B) Fuchsia must be used on the race car.
(C) Jonquil must be used on the aeroplane.
(D) Fuchsia and indigo must be used on the same
model.
(E) Fuchsia and heliotrope must be used on one
model.
Answer:-(E) is the right answer
Analysis:-When attempting such question build a list of values which will eliminate wrong answers
For example, Goldenrod and Khaki is used on the race car, Indigo and Jonquil is used on the truck, Fuchsia and Heliotrope is used on the aeroplane is a valid list
The example eliminates (A),(B),(C),(D)
Hence answer (E) is the right answer
